Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the eyelashes take to apply?
Because they are applied professionally and with care, it will usually take between 1-2 hours for completion of both eyes. This also depends on how many natural lashes you may have. I try to lash every available lashyou have, to give you the fullest look (whether natural or glam set). I am very experienced and can therefore apply your lashes relatively quickly. without compromising on quality, however it can still take up to 2 hours to complete a full set, You will however, have a LOT of lashes by the end, which will really enhance the look and feel of your eyes.
Does the application hurt?
No, it is a totally pain free treatment. Lashes are virtually weightless and are
applied to your eyelashes one at a time. Not to be confused with traditional false eyelashes,
which are produced in strips or clumps, and applied directly on to the eyelid using adhesive
that dries hard onto the lashes and lid. Not only do these traditional false eyelashes look
false, they feel heavy and uncomfortable.
Is a patch test required to check for a skin reaction?
YES, a patch test is required 48 hours before application to your natural lashes as well as to
the skin behind your ear. You will need to make a seperate appointment with me for this,
although there is no charge. Failure to have a patch test, will invaildate my insurance and
therefore, I will be unable to go ahead with an appointment for application of eyelashes.
Can I wear mascara with my eyelashes?
Water soluble mascara can be worn; however constant use of mascara may shorten the
life-span of your lashes.Waterproof mascara is not recommended for use as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes. You can hoever, still wear eye makeup with your eyelashes. Contact lens wearers are also safe to use our lashes.
Are Eyelash Extensions safe?
Yes, they are completely safe when the application is undertaken by a trained professional. The bonding is extremely strong but does not touch your skin. The surrounding eye area is well protected so any potential eye or skin irritation is completely eliminated. The eyes are closed throughout the whole procedure making the treatment relaxing. The lashes will not damage your own lashes, unless applied by someone inexperienced. I am a master trained eyelash technician and specialist with over 5 years of practice and have many returning clients, all with good strong healthy natural lashes. I pride myself on being highly qualified and professional.
How long will the eyelashes last once applied?
This depends on each individual client. Things like, playing or rubbing your eyes will effect their life span as well as the growth pattern of your natural lashes. The length of your natural lashes and the individual lashes which are applied to them will also be a deciding factor. Generally, if applied correctly, it is anticipated that lashes applied to younger natural lashes with good care by the the individual, can last up to 2-3 months which is the normal life of a natural eyelash. To maintain a good look though, it is recommended that infills and top-ups are applied every three to four weeks.
How much does it cost?
This varies, depending on what your requirments are. For a full list, please see prices page here.
Do I need top-ups or infills?
If you would like to maintain your lovely looking lashes, I always recommend maintenance of them every 3-4 weeks. This involves spending around an hour infilling new growth and re applying any that have fallen off, or any that need replacing. Having infills is entirley up to you but as long as you still have some lashes on, I will still spend a good hour maintaing them and applying as many new ones as I can. The sooner though, that you come back for infills the more fuller they will look.
